We’re back in the office and recovered now from what has been dubbed a successful comeback for EuroBLECH.

A little over 38,000 trade visitors descended on Hanover to see what’s in store for key manufacturers in the sheet metal fabrication machinery industry.

If you were not able to attend or are thinking about heading to the next show, here are 5 things we learnt from this trip to help you get to grips with the 2022 event and look ahead to 2024.

EuroBLECH 2022 entrance

1. You weren’t alone if you didn’t attend

EuroBLECH is the biggest exhibition in Europe for the sheet metal machinery industry. The scale of the operation was extremely impressive. However, it was clear,(be it for logistical reasons, economic or other) that there were few British visitors in attendance. I’m sure EuroBLECH could disprove this potentially.

Those that did attend though commented mainly on just how big the show was. As a result, they found it rather difficult to get around and see everything in the time they were spending on site.

Read on for our tips to make sure you get the most out of EuroBLECH 2024 below.

2. The industry is moving fast

Our biggest takeaway from the event is that machines are getting faster and automation is at the forefront of almost all manufacturers’ innovations. You only have to look at how sheet metal machines are handling the loading and unloading process to understand the efficiencies we can all gain from embracing these changes.

We all stand to gain from this in the future (if you aren’t already you need to speak to us ASAP). It can save time, money, resource, wastage and more.

Take Adira and Krasser, who were both at the show. Adira was exhibiting their range of technically advanced Press Brakes, while Krasser exhibited both the Optima and Centurio range of innovative cutting and slitting lines. These are two must-follow manufacturers for us.

3. Quality was on display by Yawei

We were treated to a display of laser excellence from Yawei, who showed off their HLF Laser and PBH Press Brake.

The Yawei range of hydraulic and hybrid press brakes has been extended to include two models of fully servo-electric machines. More details will follow on these.

Of all the lasers we saw on display, the build quality of the Yawei Laser Cutter Machines stood out. You can explore the Yawei range available to the UK market on our website or in our latest machinery brochure.

4. RAS were loading up

RAS were also out in strength with a new loading system for the Multibend Eco (seen pictured), as well as the Megabend. We were very impressed by the loading system and the Megabend, which can bend up to a 6mm thick plate in both a positive and negative direction.

5. Planning is absolutely essential

Travelling from the UK wasn’t easy. The only direct flights to Hanover we could find departed from Heathrow, so we actually ended up spending the best part of 2 days travelling with only 4 hours in the air.

Fingers crossed East Midlands of Birmingham takes on the flight route soon!

But this is why planning your trip is essential, both for getting there smoothly and making the most of EuroBLECH.

We would recommend:

  • Having a shortlist of the manufacturers you absolutely have to see
  • Scheduling meet-ups beforehand with people you want to chat with
  • Downloading the EuroBLECH app (this was essential for us)
  • Leave plenty of time if you want to do some wondering
  • Wear comfy shoes! You’ll be getting those steps in

Ready for EuroBLECH 2024?

The next EuroBLECH is scheduled for 2024, and we’re pretty confident the success of the 26th International Sheet Metal Working Technology Exhibition will mean it’s worth getting in the diary.

In the meantime, you can read up on all the sheet metal fabrication machines mentioned here and much more in our latest product guide. It was actually released while we were at the show!

We are in the unique position of offering machines from various manufacturers who are experts in their field, be it bending, cutting, punching, profiling or forming. There are solutions from RAS, Yawei, Adira, Teslamak and more, as well as information on tooling, spares and servicing.
